Currently on the Loom – Waffle Weave Dish Towels

Happy Thanksgiving!!  I hope every one had a wonderful, peaceful and safe holiday. It’s was quiet here. I even got some weaving done!  I have dish towels on the loom now.

My favorite dish towel pattern is the waffle weave. These towels turn out so soft and absorbent. The thread I use is 8/2 cotton.  The shrinkage on these is about 30% from the loom measurements. Once you take it off the loom and wash it that is.  I use a 7 yard warp which makes 5 towels.  Every time I put these towels on the loom I think, Wow, finally I will get these towels for my kitchen.  But they make such great gifts by the time I have finished them, they have new homes waiting.  I’ll take pictures and post when these are done.
